Braille’s birthday

charukesi January 4th, 2006

Of all that google has done so far, this I think is the best…

braille

Hover over the logo on google and it says Happy Birthday Louis Braille!

And here is a small piece I found - on google of course - on Louis Braille

Both the logo, and the story that you linked to, thrilled me to bits. Thanks a ton!

There is a reason Google is as well-regarded as it is. So simple, therefore effective.

Nice to see a blog bout this. And I did look up the braille alphabets and spotted all the characters but could not understand why there is a dot at the beginning.Any insights?

Yes it is, but there is a dot preceding the 4-square pattern that represents the G of google and that was what I was referring to.

    Adity, yup, simple and effective…

gupta, Arun, sorry, I have no clue… gupta, I have not seen braille alphabets - where did you look them up?

Maybe the dot at the start means capital ‘G’. Just a guess…
