My own heritage walk

Been spending a lot of time at the Kala Ghoda festival, soaking in culture in small digestible bite-sized pieces… As I walk around the stalls on both ends of the road, I wonder about the way popular Bollywood has come to be accepted as part of the arts… Has it always been this way?

I have been exploring the Kala Ghoda area on my own, at my own pace (given that my foot is still not in group-heritage-walk shape). College, library, art gallery, museum, theatre…

Elphinston college bubbling up

I stop often to think about how beautiful that part of Bombay is, especially at night, when the frenetic commercial activity of the day has wound down and the streets take on a calm sleepy look…

    ooh, wish I was there! As kids we used to participate in the Shankar’s painting competition in Delhi. Never got anywhere near a prize, but I still remember the fun we used to have!

    lak, do you mean the painting workshop? I was wondering what this had to do with the heritage walks :)) but yes, painting used to be such fun when I was a kid - never mind I didn’t know one end of the brush from another… it was just messy and fun!

    I did the walking tour by myself (wee bit before the KG Festival though) in the Fort Area when I was down there. It never ceases to enchant.
