A quick update

Here I am in Vishakapatnam, where thankfully the sounds of Diwali have not started so far… My laptop crashed the day I left Bombay, and took with it ten years of work and photography and music. No back ups - yes, I know… no back ups. An uneasy truce has been established now, most of the files have been recovered and the laptop is limping along till I get back to Bombay…

And here is wishing all of you a very happy Deepavali…

    now, before anything else get a good 160/200gb passport harddrive, and schedule a backup of your work…

    A very happy diwali to you charu and to v. The laptop news sounds horrible .. but thankfully some data has been recovered.
    I know the loss is difficult to make up for .. but start taking backups now please .. an external HD or something similar

    Happy Deepavali! If it’s any consolation I share your misfortune - sort of - my blog server (or rather the database) is grinding to a halt. :(
